Thursdays Doors from Warrenton Texas

Out in the fields of tents in Warrenton Texas at the Round Top Antiques Market you can find just about any type door you can think of;  household doors, closet doors, cafe doors, screen doors, glass doors, and the list goes on.

One of my favorite things to look for are doors that have been made into something new, something useful, or something artistic.

These doors were made into a type of hall tree or kitchen shelving.  Don’t you just love the utilitarian quality of these pieces?  I think this idea could be used with just about any type of door and if you had a small table/bench the same width as the door it could be made quite quickly with a minimum of effort.

#ThursdayDoors is the brainchild of Norm Frampton.

For the next two weeks I’ll be blogging from Warrenton Texas at the Round Top Antiques Market.  Follow me, learn about the quirky, strange and unusual items, people and things to see.  I hope you enjoy my trip as much as I. If you’re in the Round Top area stop by the Campbell Building and see us; our booth is Eye 4 Jewels.  Or you can check out the building’s Facebook page here.  For a calendar of events during the show and list of all the venues and their dates and times open here.

  1. I’ve never collected doors ‘in the flesh’ we might say, but I did have a phase during which I collected them photographically. I may have put some on another ‘blog’ which Ilze challenged me to rejoin recently, so I did.

    • I love looking at doors and windows so once in a while I post door pictures. Here at this antique market there are so many available it’s mind boggling. Fun to look at and try to figure out how to use them in a home. Fun to think of don’t you think?
