Today, I received a ping with congratulations from WordPress saying I’ve been a blogger for 2 years.  Whoo Hooo! I count this milestone as one of my better efforts.

I didn’t start this blog with anything in mind except writing, just taking my time serenely looking at the world of antiques and tea with a curiosity toward sharing my opinions, observations and musings.

Originally, I thought I could begin at a steady pace and write every day.  How hard could that be?  No real problem right?  Well, life throws curve balls all the time.  Life continues to confound and delight.  And that one post a day idea was more than I could keep up.  I participated in several 30 day challenges but I’ve got to admit they did more than challenge.  They stretched my thought processes and made me think outside the box.

I like the writing I’ve done so far and look forward to many more years of honing my writing skills, challenging myself with writing prompts and sharing parts of myself and my world.

  1. Congratulations. I think I’ve been blogging for about 4 years but created the ‘grumpytyke’ blog way before that. Like you I did it only because I like to write, but unlike you I had no ‘theme’ to follow, just whatever came into my head at the time. That is still so. I never intended or attempted to post every day, despite being urged by WordPress (and blogging ‘gurus’) to do so. I find that posts from those who do post everybday are rarely interesting; from those who post several times a day even often irritating – they are usually ‘unfollowed’!

    • During the advent season I blogged once a day about Christmas collectibles and Christmas cookies. Once I got started and had photos shot it was easy to schedule one a day and knock out an entire week’s worth of posts with a day’s efforts. Keeping up with emails and comments took more time than anticipated I must admit.
Starting with a theme to inspire urged me to do more. But, now I find myself writing about myself, my experiences and my opinions more and more. I guess it’s a natural progression. I’ll just have to see where this journey takes me.
